1. Drink plenty of water. It’s recommended that you drink 8 glasses of water a day. This helps aid essential body functions such as cell metabolism, digestion and liver and kidney function.

2. To help cleanse your body of toxins, eat more high fiber foods like oat bran, fruits, vegetables, beans and brown rice.

3. Get plenty of sleep. You need at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Lack of sleep can affect just about everything you do, including job performance, your overall health, your mood.

4. To help fight cancer it is recommended that you eat more raw vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and brussels sprouts. These are said to be excellent cancer fighting foods. Broccoli has been found to help decrease the risk of lung cancer.

5. If possible, climb stairs instead of using the elevator. Regular exercise promotes physical fitness and, among other things, strengthens the immune system.

6. Avoid fatty meats like hamburgers, pork, sausage and bacon. Meat adds harmful cholesterol which can clog the arteries and lead to heart disease.

7. This is one of the most important of all health tips. Eat three meals a day. Don’t skip meals and don’t eat between meals.

8. Avoid dairy products as much as possible, like whole milk, cheese and eggs as much as possible. If you have to have these items, eat the low-fat version.

9. Stop smoking. If you're a smoker, quitting could be extremely difficult. That's because smoking is more than a habit. It's an addiction--to nicotine. You might need to seek professional help for this one.

Stay away from sugar as much as possible, especially soft drinks made with corn syrup. Start your dinner with a mixed green salad. this helps curb your appetite for high-calorie foods and adds extra veggies to your meal.
